Mahmoud Sharafeldin is expert of plant production, at Ministry of Environment & Water and Agriculture (MEWA) with responsibility for Plant Production Technologies and Agricultural Research and Extension. Prior to joining MEWA, Professor Sharafeldin worked in academic teaching and research at several institutions, in different countries including Germany, USA, KSA, ARE, and UK. Professor Sharafeldin received Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture from Technische Universität München. Mahmoud Sharafeldin is serving as elected Chairperson of the ISHS-Workgroup Moringa and the co-Chair of the ISHS-Workgroup Saffron.
