Sharl has been an international consultant since 2017, working in the primary industries across several species. Prior to that he developed and honed his skill set to those that he has now formalised at AbacusBio. He commercialised DNA technology in the sheep and cattle industries for 10 years which involved being the technical link between genetic and genomic R&D efforts and sheep and beef farmers. That career journey was incredibly valuable and allowed Sharl to hone his business, technical and people skills, moving through five phases of change management over seven years. More recently Sharl has enjoyed working with vertical enterprises and governments as they grapple with strategies to grow more food by considering modern livestock performance recording technology. A role in a software development house prepared Sharl well for his role a Product Manager for VentureBio Ltd. Dtreo is a SaaS platform that caters to the needs of livestock breeders and supply chains who want to capture and transform valuable genetic information once into decision making information. Sharl is a very effective project manager, matching the requirements of customers with the resources needed for successful project execution. Throughout his career is well known to be an effective communicator and obsessed with meeting customer expectations. Saudi Arabia and China based projects have been particularly satisfying, drawing on all aspects of Sharl’s experience as he manages differences in culture and business.
